Deterministic Pricing Index

No email platform is cheapest everywhere.

Vendors price by subscriber count in tiers, and no two vendors break their tiers at the same place. Who is cheapest at 2,000 subscribers is not who is cheapest at 5,000 or 10,000. Enter your list size below to calculate the real, unasserted ranking from verified weekly published rates.

Ranking at 4,200 subscribers

Every row shows the plan, billed tier, how much list headroom remains before the next price step, and how big that step is. Magnitude is drawn proportionally so you see the pricing spread at a glance.

The Structural Argument

Where each price steps — The tier misalignment map

Five horizontal tapes on a continuous logarithmic scale from 500 to 100,000 subscribers. Every vertical tick mark in signal red (|) is a price step where you pay more. Notice how they never align: when Brevo steps at 7,500, GetResponse holds until 10,000. That misalignment is why no single vendor stays cheapest.

Where the lead changes hands

Across the entire 100 to 100,000 range, exactly two platforms ever lead. Click any range below to jump the instrument to that threshold and see why the lead swaps.

Timeline of Lowest-Cost Provider (500 to 100,000 subscribers) Current: 4,200 subs (Moosend $48)
The Two Contenders
Moosend and GetResponse are the only two platforms that are ever cheapest. Moosend wins early (100–2k) and holds large mid-size brackets (2.5k–8k, 10k–25k, 50k–75k). GetResponse snatches the lead when Moosend steps ahead of schedule: at 2,001–2,500 ($29 vs $32), at 8,001–10,000 ($79 vs $88), at 25,001–50,000 ($299 vs $315), and at 75,001–100,000 ($539 vs $624).
The Never-Cheapest Platforms
GetResponse, MailerLite and Omnisend never lead at any subscriber count. GetResponse comes closest at 1,000 subscribers, $3 above the cheapest, and is as much as 112% above it elsewhere. MailerLite comes closest at 500 subscribers, $3 above the cheapest, and is as much as 118% above it elsewhere. Omnisend comes closest at 1,000 subscribers, $4 above the cheapest, and is as much as 244% above it elsewhere. They are listed in the ranking anyway, because leaving a platform out is how a comparison stops being one — and no reason is offered for the gap, because a reason is not something a pricing page states.

How the figures are computed

TierTruth publishes deterministic mathematical comparisons. We do not use averages, interpolations, or synthetic estimates. Here is how your quote is derived.

01. THE CEILING TIER RULE

Smallest tier that holds your list

Email platforms do not prorate by individual subscriber. A list of 4,200 contacts cannot buy a 4,200-subscriber plan; it is billed on the 5,000-subscriber ceiling tier. The 800 unused contacts represent headroom you have already paid for.

02. STEP VOLATILITY

The +1 contact penalty

Growing from 5,000 to 5,001 subscribers immediately triggers the next tier bracket. On MailerLite, crossing 5,000 adds +$40/mo (+82%). On Brevo, crossing 5,000 adds only +$7/mo (+22%). Knowing your headroom prevents surprise billing spikes.

03. WHAT IS COMPARED

Price, at matched volume

Rankings compare the cheapest plan each platform publishes at your volume: Brevo Starter, Moosend Pro, MailerLite Comfort, GetResponse Starter and Omnisend Standard. They are matched on price at matched volume, which is a figure every vendor publishes — not on feature set, which they describe in their own words and not in comparable terms. Read the plan name in each row before the price: a cheaper plan can be a smaller plan, and this page does not yet assert that these are like for like.

04. AUDIT CYCLE

Weekly public verification

Pricing is audited every Monday morning directly from published vendor billing matrices. Rates reflect standard month-to-month billing. Every figure here is the month-to-month rate, which is the one a vendor publishes plainly and the one this site can check. Annual prepayment is discounted by most vendors and not by all, at rates this site does not collect, so no saving is quoted for it.
