How a price is worked out

Every figure on this site is read from the platform's own pricing page by an automated browser, stored with the date it was read, and checked before it is published.

Reading the ladder

Platforms do not put their tier ladder in the page source. A pricing page ships one default bracket and computes the rest when a control changes, so the reader drives that control — a text field, a dropdown or a slider — and records what the page prints at each stop.

What is checked before a price is kept

A reading is rejected if the control did not actually move, if a price is not a positive number, if a plan name is one the platform does not publish, if the same plan appears twice at one bracket, if a price has moved more than 60% since the last reading, or if a ladder runs backwards. A rejected reading keeps its previous value and is marked stale rather than replaced with a guess.

Matching a list to a tier

A list is billed on the smallest bracket that still holds it: 2,001 contacts pay the 3,000 rate where 3,000 is the next step. Cost per 1,000 is always per contact, so a platform billed on emails sent stays comparable with one billed on list size.

What is left out

A plan sold only by quote is never given an invented figure. A platform with no published price at a size is listed with the reason rather than dropped. Platforms still being added are named in the repository rather than quietly omitted.

Where the money comes from

Some links on this site earn a commission. The rankings are computed from the stored ladders, so a commission cannot move a platform up a table. Platforms that pay nothing are included on the same terms as those that do.
